I would also just like to say
. . . that your final critical essay pitches are the best batch I've ever seen. You've individually and collectively come up with some bold and fascinating ideas. I can't wait to see them. Bravo!

Countdown to exam week
Here's what's due, week by week, until the end of the quarter:
8th week
Monday at 4 p.m. (hard copy and on the blog)
1.Kael revision
2.Final piece pitch, 250 words. Include: your thesis, the five w's, why it's relevant now, why you should write it, what sources you'll use, what larger statement about the culture you'll be making.
Meet in Humphrey House at 5:15 for carpool to Hunan Gardens. Crazy Heart at Kalamazoo 10. Bring at least $20 cash for dinner and movie.
9th week
Monday at 4 p.m.
Live performance review (hard copy and on the blog)

Four copies of first draft, final piece (for workshop)
previously scheduled 8th week NYTimes defenses due
10th week
Sunday, March 7, meet in Hicks/Bissell Theatre at 8 p.m. for the Oscars (7:30 if you want to catch the red carpet fashion and chat)!
No class meeting on Wednesday, March 10
